In the past three years, Protubo has expanded its share of large projects. In the period, approximately 200 spools have been coated and delivered, with diameters between 1½" and 14".

The growing demand confirms the expectation of stepped up investments by companies in the oil and gas sector, based on the announcement of important new hydrocarbon discoveries, especially from the pre-salt formations.

Strategic and emergency supply for platforms
Coated spools are extremely important to customers, given the nature of the service and critical aspects of the projects. Protubo supplied spools to Petrobras for an emergency work in the hypochlorite injection lines of the P-17 platform, and has now started to coat the spools for the Cherne PCH2 and P-25 platforms. Techint has also received spools to replace the discharge line of the P-26 platform. The coating of spools for Brasfels for use on the P-51 platform has also been completed, and we are supplying fire-fighting water lines for PCP-Engevix for P-19.
New coating orders are arriving – we just signed a contract with Brasfels to supply coated spools for P-56 – and we expect to close the year with impressive growth in relation to 2007.
