INDUCTION BENDING --- COATING WITH POLYETHYLENE --- ELBOWS --- PREFABRICATION --- INDUCTION HARDENING

We are truly committed to maintain our work in a safe environment and the preservation of the environment. Our collaborators feel happier working in a safe and healthy location. Rigorously following the valid legislation, through programs such as ERPP (Environmental Risk Prevention Program) and MCOHP (Medical Control of Occupational Health Program). Moreover, we use (Internal Commission for the Prevention of Accidents).

Every morning, before starting our activities, we do physical exercise, coordinated by our own employees, therefore avoiding posture problems, accidents and improving our quality of life.

Our employees are subject to periodical training in the prevention of accidents and the proper use of IPE’s (Individual Protection Equipment).

We are also ecologically responsible and practice day to day the philosophy based on
the 3R's:

REDUCE consumption;
REUTILIZE when it is not possible to reduce;
RECYCLE when it is not possible to either reduce or reutilize.

Rainwater is used for secondary uses, such as the watering of plants and cleaning of external areas.

Rubbish is separated and disposal of metallic materials not appropriate for fabrication leaves our factory with a note of obligation assuring that the material will not pollute the environment.

The fabrication of our products and services do not damage the environment. The water used on a large scale in this process, functions as a closed system: it is directed through cooling towers, passed through cleaning filters and re-used.

Investment in safety

Concern for safety continues to be crucial at Protubo. Scales were installed on all the overhead cranes at the factory to facilitate visualization of the load weight. Ergonomic chairs were also acquired for greater comfort and safety of the bending machine operators. And the emergency lights and fire alarms are in the final installation phase at all the factory installations and administration building.

Environment: Our installations pass inspection

At Protubo we continue investing in solutions to minimize the environmental impact of our activities and to ensure ecological preservation and sustainable growth. Proof of this was given by the visit paid to our installations recently by representatives of the Municipal Environmental Secretariat.

They came to inspect our water-oil separator. Satisfied with the operating standards of this equipment, the inspectors said they would recommend it for licensing.

Selective trash collection: Training and new receptacles

To implement selective trash collection at Protubo, we acquired more receptacles for the factory and offices, in the color standards required by the National Environmental Council (Conama).
And since it’s necessary to educate to preserve, all our employees are receiving training in environmental aspects and impacts and waste management.

Flu vaccination campaign

Protubo has joined the flu vaccination campaign. The vaccine provides protection against a disease that, besides discomfort, can cause many complications. It also prevents its transmission, especially to children and to the elderly. Those who have been vaccinated also can be more productive at work, and will remain protected during the holiday season. Even expenses for medicines and visits to the doctor will be reduced. But remember: the vaccine protects against the flu, but not against colds.

Environmental audit

Every year Protubo conducts 4 audit processes of its Integrated Management System, and a legal environmental audit, aiming to aggregate value to the systems already in place. The audits count on the participation of the entire executive board, demonstrating that Protubo’s integrated management has the full support of senior management.

In August and September, Protubo’s Environmental Department underwent two audits that helped ensure continuing improvement of the Environmental Management System. During the process only two nonconformities were found, and these are already being corrected.
